Linda's Turtle Trot SAL June Update

Hi Blogger Friends.  You can read about the SAL on Claudette's blog  BAP Attack.  I managed to work on all 12 again this month.  Actually the last 2 weeks and 7 of them in the last 2 days.  I also kept up with my SAL's.  However, I haven't started working on YOTA - Bothy Threads cut-thru North Pole House.   As I've said a hundred times, if I spent less time on this computer I could sure get a lot more stitching done.  (you can click on any pictures to enlarge)

1.  Cat Lessons - Lizzie Kate - did another phrase and the bird and branch

2.  The Old West - Little House Needleworks - the Alamo has a fence

3.  Autumn Alphabet - Lizzie Kate - did the letter E

4.  Blue Bird Floral - Diane Arthurs - started the light blue in the border

5.  6 Fat Men - Lizzie Kate - the snowman has a rabbit friend

6.  Fredericka - Carriage House Samplings - started the flower

7.  Happy Camper - Diane Arthurs - did the dark blue water and the bird

8.  Summer Season - Sandra Cozzolino - finished summer

9.  Mermaid Myrna - Diane Arthurs - did the next color in her tail

10.  Crabby All Year - Raise the Roof - outlined the March square

11.  Christmas Village - Prairie Schooler - added 4 more trees  (I need some help with this one.  I love her designs but she tends to use blah, drab colors.  I am thinking of doing the other houses in different colors.  Maybe blue, yellow, green, gold, etc.  Tell me what you think)

12.  January Sampler - Waxing Moon Designs - did another strand in the banner

Bothy Threads cut-thru SAL Update 10

Hi Blogger Friends.  Another day on the Stable and still having fun.  I bet any of you that if you tried one of these cut-thru designs you'd be hooked too.  They are so neat.  I had two blobs in the sky and a little backstitch turned them into butterflies.  Also had a rooster in the middle of nowhere that turned into a weather vane.  And another yellow and purple blob on the roof that became a snail.  (you can click on the pics to enlarge)

Halloween House - Ursula Michael  (bs the two middle windows)

Thursday is Turtle Trot SAL update and I still have 7 to work on.  Gotta go stitch.

Bothy Threads cut-thru SAL Update 9 and others

Hi Blogger Friends.  I didn't make to much progress on my SAL pieces this past week.
However, the Old Nag quit nagging me so she now has a tail.  She also has a cat and a snail on the roof.  I was having a terrible time trying to do the backstitching on the cats face, so it has my version.  Hope it looks okay.  (you can click on the pics to enlarge)

June YOTA SAL Update

Hi Blogger Friends.  Its time to post our YOTA (year of the acronym).  It is being hosted by Pull the Other Thread and you can read about it HERE.

Finish #12

 The Library
Little House Needleworks
14ct Beige Aida
Started 2-18-10
Finished 5-31-13

I am so excited.  My next YOTA project is Bothy Threads cut-thru North Pole House.  This was started 2-4-12 and never touched again.  If its as much fun as the Stable I may not stitch on anything else.

I have to tell you another story.  I was sitting out front last night about 8:15.  Dead silence.  No birds chirping, no kids playing, nothing.  I hear clop, clop, clop.  I'm just staring across the street at my neighbors yard.  Here comes a huge doe - walks across the grass - across the walkway - onto the grass and squats and starts doing her thing.  Two more deer walk up behind her and stop.  I haven't moved or made a sound and she snaps her head to the left and just stares at me.  She was in that position for about 2 - 3 minutes.  She finishes and they walk down the driveway and hop the fence into the field and off they go.  Now I tell you, I have lived up here for 43 years and have seen my fair share of deer.  BUT, this is the first time I have seen one squatting.
