Hi blogging friends. Thank you for reading my blog and the comments. They so make my day.
First up is my THIRD finish of the year. Mr. Toad paid a visit yesterday. The flowers to the left of the tree are off one row. I started the border there and went up across the top down the right side across the bottom and back up. Needless to say, I was off one row on the right side. I was going to leave it, but guilt took over and I frogged it and redid it. I'm so glad I did. It was such a fun stitch that I'm kinda sorry that its done. I was hoping Diane would design more like this but she said she has no plans to right now.
The Mercantile - LHN
14 ct lambswool
DMC floss except Woodsmoke for the building and Clay Pot for the border.
Started 1-23-22
Finished 2-15-11
I also did my one strand a day in Alphabet Blocks. I finished deer and jump. I really don't like the flowery border around it, but I feel it needs something. I was thinking of doing one row of black all around it. What do you think? (You can click to enlarge)
I think I am going to work on Hark by Bent Creek. It should be a quick stitch. Then, I can start a new one. I really need me some summer so I think I will start July by Prairie Schooler.
Thanks for looking. Linda

Congratulations in finishing The Mercantile! It is absolutely gorgeous.
Linda, the Mercantile turned out so well, didn't it!!! No wonder you are proud of it. Are you going to hang it? where? I would if I were you. It's something to be proud of. I hope you find the other pieces related to it. Great stitching!!! :) Cathryn
Hey Linda.
Congratulations on your finish. It's turned out very nice. I think a row all around alphabet would look very nice to frame the entire piece.
Congratulations again and looking forward to see more of your stitching.
Jackie.
Your finish is great! Awsome to get three finishes done so early in the year. You should have the WIP pile down in no time at this rate.
Love the finish! If you don't like the flowery border, then a plain one would be just the ticket!
I did not do any border the heavy dark frame worked perfect. I really like your alphabet blocks and if you used the orange(bittersweet) a dark frame will do the trick. Sincerely Carolm stick with it you do not have that much left...
Congrats on finishing The Mercantile. Nice job.
merchantile is so cute and deserves a litttle happy dance :) which I'm doing for you and just called lns to hold me the chart. Some things just don't grab me right away but seeing yours did it for me.
hugs,
babs
Congrats Linda! I see you're at your third as well ;o) I love her designs as well.
Congratulations Linda!! Your finish looks wonderful! I say go for a row around. I think it will make everything pop!
