Lizzie Kate Month - Week 3

Hi Blogger Friends.  Thank you for all of the nice comments and well wishes.  I did go see the orthopedic surgeon last Tuesday.  I have
De Quervain's Tendinosis
De Quervain's tendinosis occurs when the tendons around the base of the thumb are irritated or constricted. The word "tendinosis" refers to a swelling of the tendons. Swelling of the tendons, and the tendon sheath, can cause pain and tenderness along the thumb side of the wrist. This is particularly noticeable when forming a fist, grasping or gripping something, or when turning the wrist.
Anatomy
Two of the main tendons to the thumb pass through a tunnel (or series of pulleys) located on the thumb side of the wrist. Tendons are rope-like structures that attach muscle to bone. Tendons are covered by a slippery thin soft-tissue layer, called synovium. This layer allows the tendons to slide easily through a fibrous tunnel called a sheath.
Any swelling of the tendons and/or thickening of the sheath, results in increased friction and pain with certain thumb and wrist movements.

I'm having minor surgery done tomorrow and won't be able to stitch or crochet for 2 - 3 weeks.  In fact I haven't stitched in the last week I have been doing jigsaw puzzles.  I strongly urge all of you to see a doctor if you have any pain in your wrist or thumb.  This has been going on for about 8 weeks and it is very very painful.  You can go HERE to learn more about it and see what he is going to do.  (Easier than me trying to explain it.)

I did work on a different piece for the third week.

Day 15

Day 16

Day 17

Day 18  (the next 4 are Halloween Rules)

Day 20

Day 21

I thought I would show you what my very very bad husband did a couple months ago.

HE BROUGHT HOME TWINS!!!!!!  They are about 4 and half months old now.  Meet Mikey and Mickey.

I will let you know how the surgery goes.

Thanks for stopping by.   Linda

Good luck! Have had carpal tunnel surgery. So, I understand what you're going through to some extent. Have fun with your therapy...it really does work!

Wishing you a successful surgery and return (after therapy and all that!) to stitching. Your WIPs will wait! The twins are so cute!

Oh my goodness Linda I am so sorry, at least it is only minor surgery, I hope you heal fast.
Looks like the kids want to help with the puzzle.
I love the fabric color you chose for Friends Love and Family.

Blessings

All of your Lizzie Kate projects are cute, and the twins are adorable! They look like mischief makers, though. Good luck with your surgery, and I hope you heal quickly and can get back to stitching soon.

2-3 weeks!! How will you cope? Hope it is all successful.
At least you have gorgeous new kitties to take your mind off the surgery.

I hope surgery went well, Linda. And I hope that you are already on the mend. No needlework for some weeks is not too long and will help to get well again as soon as possible.
Nice L*K projects that you were stitching on.

Hi Linda, hope the surgery went well. You need to give rest to your hand to recover faster. Your LK projects are lovely.

Oh, dear, I'm sorry to read this, Linda, but I hope your surgery went well and you will recover quickly. That will be hard not to stitch or crochet for a few weeks, but it will be worth the sacrifice if the pain goes away.

I enjoyed seeing all of your projects! Take care now :)
