Starts 45 - 48 DSDUCJFC and TUSAL

Hi Blogger Friends.  I want to thank you all for the wonderful comments.  I still haven't got back to you personally and I'm sorry.  Please just know that I really appreciate them.

Here are my next 4 starts:

Day 45 - Rainbow Parfait - Glendon Place   I'm not using the called for expensive floss just good old DMC.  What do you think of my color choices?

Day 46 - Mediterranean Harbour - John Clayton - Heritage Stitchcraft      I love his designs but didn't realize he uses a lot of single strands and blended threads.  I just like plain old x's.

Day 47 - Venice Balcony - Michael Powell     I scored big time and got 8 of his charts on ebay for $8.00 each plus free postage.

Day 48 - Spring Seasonal Mandala - Ink Circles   This is the one on the right.

It's time for the Totally Useless Stitch along update.  This is where we save our floss or yarn ends and post a picture of them on the New Moon.  This is being hosted by Sharon of It's Daffycat.

Sophie's Universe CAL - I had made up my mind to quit doing this CAL.  I love the colors.  The rounds are getting more complicated therefore they are more time consuming.  I like it but the texture is kinda rough.  But looking at it here makes me want to continue working on it.  What do you all think?

Thanks for looking.    Linda

Great starts, Linda! They're all so different. I think the DMC colors you chose are perfect; I do that a lot with charts that call for different thread designers. Great orts for the month. That is a beautiful blanket; I'd hate to see you quit. Are you past the halfway point? If so, go for it. But I know you have a lot of other projects on your plate, too.

Oh how gorgeous! I love all of your new starts. Yes the DMC colors look like they were meant to be - Fantastic!!! Now I have to go look up that chart - LOL!

These are the best starts yet! I love Michael Powell's charts, that was a great score.

Great new starts !! And the rainbow colors are lovely.
Your crocheted piece is looking wonderful and complete at this level too. My suggestion would be to discontinue if you feel it has reached a decent size for you to use. But if you are really interested, then continue. Else making it just to complete the CAL might take your time from other stitching projects

What beautiful new starts! You always pick the prettiest things!
The afghan is gorgeous, but if it's becoming more of a chore than a pleasure, I'd put it aside for a little while and see if the fun comes back?

More great starts. Your DMC colours look really good. I like Michael Powell designs but haven't stitched one yet. I also like the Ink Circles mandalas.
Regarding the CAL, do you have to keep up with each piece to get the next one? Or can you slow the pace down?

Great starts and colour choices on Rainbow Parfait. With the CAL, it is gorgeous, but it has to be worth it to you. :) Good luck with a difficult decision.

Beautiful new starts, especially the Glendon Place. I love those patterns and your colors are great for it! Those Ink Circles are pretty awesome too. Maybe I'm just in the mood for mandalas ahaha. As for the CAL, I would keep going out of pure stubbornness. I think it looks lovely as-is though!

I have been trying to investigate the comment issue with Blogger myself. So far, I've only run into one person whose comment wasn't emailed to me. Others are appearing oddly -- usually they say something to the effect of "New comment on [x-post]" but others are showing up as "no subject". I've been trying to figure out some sort of pattern... so far it seems to be yahoo emails acting weird. Maybe gmail and yahoo aren't playing nice. :( I wish I could be of more help!

Lovely new starts Linda. I like the John Clayton one best, it looks calm and peaceful in the Med! I agree with Preeti, if you would use the CAL as it is then I would stop here.

I love the colours of the Rainbow Parfait, I've not stitched one of the Glendon Place mandala style charts and I really should consider it as they are lovely. I think your colour choices will look great!

Well done with your E-Bay purchases and your CAL!

I love all of your new starts. The bright substitute threads will work well for the Glendon Place design, The Panorama is beautiful, Michael Powell designs are always fun and the mandala is gorgeous. Thinks... I have some fractals but no mandalas. I may have to go shopping because of you! You're a bad influence on me! :)

Are you happy with how Rainbow Parfait is coming out with just the DMC colors? Did you find a conversion chart somewhere or just choose the colors yourself?
