My 3rd finish

Hi blogging friends.  Thank you for reading my blog and the comments.  They so make my day.

First up is my THIRD finish of the year.  Mr. Toad paid a visit yesterday.  The flowers to the left of the tree are off one row.  I started the border there and went up across the top down the right side across the bottom and back up.  Needless to say, I was off one row on the right side.  I was going to leave it, but guilt took over and I frogged it and redid it.  I'm so glad I did.  It was such a fun stitch that I'm kinda sorry that its done.  I was hoping Diane would design more like this but she said she has no plans to right now.

The Mercantile - LHN
14 ct lambswool
DMC floss except Woodsmoke for the building and Clay Pot for the border.
Started 1-23-22
Finished 2-15-11

I also did my one strand a day in Alphabet Blocks.  I finished deer and jump.  I really don't like the flowery border around it, but I feel it needs something.  I was thinking of doing one row of black all around it.  What do you think?  (You can click to enlarge)

I think I am going to work on Hark by Bent Creek.  It should be a quick stitch.  Then, I can start a new one.  I really need me some summer so I think I will start July by Prairie Schooler.

Mercantile Update

Greetings dear blogging friends and thank you for looking at my blog and the wonderful comments.  I really appreciate them.   First up is the Mercantile by LHN.  I have been working on this for the last 16 days.  I really want to work on something else but just don't wanna stop this one.  I probably would have had it done if I would stay off the computer.  I keep telling my DH that and he threatens to change the password.  BUT, he knows he would be in a lotta trouble. lol

I want to thank Ann for spotting my oopsy.  I noticed it that evening when I started to stitch.  So guess what?  I had to rip out two other words bc I had counted from the misspelled word.  I decided back in the old west it was called fab-ic  later changed to fab-ric.  LOL

I kept up with my one strand a day in Alpabet Blocks.  In fact, bc this is a short month I did eight strands in seven days.  I finished the Elephant block and started the Deer.

I have decided that each block could be considered a finish.  They are about the size of a small ornament.  I so want to start Christmas Rules by Lizzie Kate.  Remember, my rule:  when I finish two projects I get to start a new one.  We will see!!

A thought:  I have over 1500 cross stitch kits.  Hundreds of books, magazines and charts.  I was thinking about doing a grab box.  Those all you can ship boxes from the post office for so much.  Would anybody be interested?  Please let me know.  bengalcatlover10@yahoo.com

Thanks for looking.  See you next week.   Linda

A New Start

Hi All,  Thanks for looking and for the comments.  Because I finished 2 pictures I got to start a new one.  It is The Mercantile by LHN.  I have worked on it the last 11 days.  I just love it and it is so much fun to work on.  I sure hope Diane designs some more like these.  I shoulda been born a cowgirl.

The Mercantile - LHN  14 ct lambswool

I have decided to put one strand a day into a BAP/UFO.  I picked Alphabet Blocks by CHS.  I figure (I love simple math and if I could kick myself in the butt I would for not going into some field of math.  My parents would'nt let me go to college) the blocks that still need the letter, word and fill in should take 6 - 7 strands each.  With my calculations I should be able to get 5 blocks a month done which would take me thru June and I could get it framed and enter it into the county fair the end of July.  The only problem is that it has more cat hair than my cats. lol  The upside - makes the floss stronger.
So far so good.  I have worked on it for 3 days.  Am working on the E.  Got the big E done and part of the little e (1 strand),  the word elephant and 1 strand of the orangey.

I am going to try and post an update once a week, but darn, I would rather spend the day looking at everybody elses blogs.  Thats why I don't have the Mercantile done.
