M.I.A.

Hi Blogger Friends.  Sorry that I've not been blogging.  I spent four days in the hospital last week.  I went in for a horrid leg infection and they decided that I was in A-Fib.  I came home Sunday and still have a horrible infection, extreme pain and swelling in the left leg.  I have been in bed for almost three weeks.  I'm on antibotics but they aren't helping.
I'm sorry for not responding to you wonderful comments, so I will say thank you to each of you now.  I am trying to catch up on reading blogs, but haven't been commenting, but all your stitching and finishing is lovely. I hope to be back by the end of the month with my last stitching update and my starts for next year.
For now, I just want to wish you all a Merry Christmas.

Linda

PS  I could sure use some well wishes.  The doctor said if it doesn't get better in a couple days that I will have to go back to the hospital.

December YOTA SAL and SNOW

Hi Blogger Friends.  It's time for the Year of the Acronym update.  It is being hosted by Pull the Other Thread and you can read about it HERE.  This is Bothy Threads cut-thru North Pole House.  I only worked on it for a few hours last month and I didn't get very much done.  I hope to get more done this month.  Although, after my Turtle Trot post on the 13th, I need to start getting ready for my 31 January starts and decide which 10 for the Turtle Trot.

11-2-13

12-7-13  I finished the elf and did a couple more packages and some yellow.

We live in northern California in the Sierra Foothills at about 1000' elevation.  I would love this snow if my DH didn't have to go to work.  Narrow hilly road and he goes up to the 1900' elevation.  I took these after it had melted off the road.  We had started to put the Christmas decorations up outside yesterday when it started.

TUSAL and some Progress

Hi Blogger Friends.  I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  I'm so enjoying my turkey sandwiches.

It's time for the last Totally Useless Stitch a-long post for the year.  You can read all about it on Daffycat's blog HERE.  I found some different clear plastic ornaments at Walmart this year and I do believe that I will be able to fill one up this year.  You can tell from last years pic that I did a whole lot more stitching this year.  GO ME!!

12-3-13

12-16-12

I did a little on the Stable yesterday.  I backstitched about half of the horse.  I also did some fill in stitches on the front wall and added the blue bucket.

Fall Welcome by Diane Arthurs is a Saturday SAL with Debbie and Kaye.  I finished her head and the basket.

Santa's 12 Days of Christmas - Day 5 by Prairie Schooler is a Sunday SAL with Kaye and Debbie.  I am almost done with his red coat.  I should be able to finish this one next Sunday.

I do need to start putting together my 10 Turtle Trot pieces for next year and my 31 January starts.  After I post my TT progress on the 13th, I will start working on getting those put together.

Thanks for looking.    Linda

WIP's

Wishing everyone a HAPPY THANKSGIVING.

Hi Blogger Friends.  I didn't seem to get to much done on my SAL pieces this week.  I did get quite a bit done on the January Sampler, one of my Turtle Trot pieces.

I backstitched the brush, shovel, pail and two stars on the cut-thru Stable.  I also finished stitching the dog house roof.  I think I'm going to start doing a couple strands of backstitch a week until I get it caught up.

Fall Welcome by Diane Arthurs - This is a Saturday SAL with Debbie and Kaye.  I finished the one color in her shirt, started her hat and did another strand in the border.

Santa's 12 Days of Christmas - Day 5 - Prairie Schooler - This is a Sunday SAL with Kaye and Debbie.  Santa has a head already.  For some reason I seem to stitch heads/faces towards the end.  I don't think I'll get this done next Sunday.  Looks like another 2 or 3 Sundays.

Debbie and I have decided to do the UCJC2014 again.  We will start a new project everyday in January.   I guess my 141 UFO's/WIP's aren't enough for me.  LOL  But ya know, its just so darn much fun to start new ones and I have been really good this year with my starts.
I'm also very excited about next years Turtle Trot SAL.  We are only going to work on 10 projects next year.  I decided that when I finish one I can add another one in.  And it won't be so stressful trying to work on 14.

I'll leave you with a picture of Mocha and Sparky.

New Start and Updates

Hi Blogger Friends.  I'm starting to get startitis, but I'm trying really hard not to start a bunch.  I would really like to get some finished.  I did start 12 Days of Christmas - Day 5 by Prairie Schooler.  This should be done in a couple of Sundays.  The rest are gonna take a whole lot longer.   This is a Sunday SAL with Debbie and Kaye.

Fall Welcome by Diane Arthurs - started the border and her sleeve - also did about 100 stitches in the basket - This is a Saturday SAL with Kaye and Debbie.

HAPPY DANCING here - I finally finished stitching page 4 on the Stable.  I also backstitched the basket of carrots and the wall.  The girl now has a bucket to stand on.
You can see everyone's progress on the SAL page at the top.

Progress Made

Hi Blogger Friends.  I want to thank all of you for leaving me such inspiring comments and for voting on my last post.  Looks like January Sampler will be my next Turtle Trot finish.

I worked on Fall Welcome by Diane Arthurs.  All of her designs are just so much fun to stitch.  This is a Saturday SAL with Debbie and Kaye.  I am almost done with the basket but it has a whole lot of backstitching.

The Stable now has another strange looking mouse.  He has a big odd shaped head and a broken tail.  It also has another ribbon and a pile of sacks.  Again, almost done with page 4.  I WILL finish the page Monday.  (You can click on the pics to enlarge)

Close up of mouse.

Linda's Turtle Trot SAL November Update

Hi Blogger Friends.  Well yippee!!!  I actually have been stitching on these for the last couple of weeks.  I'm proud to say that I made some decent progress on some of them.  You can read all about the Turtle Trot and see the other stitchers that are doing it at BAP Attack hosted by Claudette.

1.  Cat Lessons - Lizzie Kate - (Finish 18)

14ct Summer Khaki
Started 1-17-12
Finished 11-1-13

2.  The Old West - Little House Needleworks - started the border on the bottom

3.  Blue Bird Floral - Diane Arthurs - worked on the pink square

4.  6 Fat Men - Lizzie Kate - added the owl and more snow

5.  Fredericka - Carriage House Samplings - added a squirrel and another key

6.  Happy Camper - Diane Arthurs - did the sun, the rest of the trees and started the endless grass

7.  Summer Season - Sandra Cozzolino - really happy with how much I got done on this one since it was all starting and stopping - the vines are done as are the flowers on top and bottom

8.  Mermaid Myrna - Diane Arthurs - did more of her fin and started her hair (She has a whole lotta hair)

9.  Crabby All Year - Raise the Roof - I decided not to do this one anymore.  It's big and I don't want to buy all the buttons.  I cut out the part that was stitched and saved the rest of the fabric.

10.  January Sampler - Waxing Moon Designs - did a little bit on the house and the two green trees need white and another strand in the top banner

Yeah!!!  I have now finished 3 and tossed 2.  I am so looking forward to next years SAL and am having a hard time deciding which ones that I want to add in.  See, the more I finish the more new ones I can add in.

I would love to finish 3 or 4 more of these this year, but I know I am only dreaming.  I think I can finish one or maybe two.  How about voting for which one or two that I should try and finish this year.

Thanks for looking.  Linda     (you can click on the pics to enlarge)
