March Gifted Gorgeousness and Smalls SAL

Hi Blogger Friends.  GIFTED GORGEOUSNESS is bein hosted by Jo of Serendipitous Stitching.  We all have projects that have been gifted to us or pieces that we are doing as gifts.  This SAL is so we can work on those and post on the 15th.  The magazine was gifted to me by our wonderful hostess.  This is  mini London by Satsuma Street.  I stitched the section to the right of the clock.

It's the last Friday of the month and time for the Smalls SAL post.  This is being hosted by Heather of Stitching Lotus.  We pick a small project to stitch on and post a finished picture on the last Friday of the month.  These were going to be for the April A - Z challenge.

After taking the pictures of these today it sure makes me want to work on smalls and Clouds Factory characters.  I'm still not very organized with my stitching time yet.  (I am retired and have all day.)  I tend to daydream alot and play on this stupid computer instead of being productive.  I PLAN on changing all that next month.

See you Sunday with progress pics.

So Many Stitches a Week - Week 12

Hi Blogger Friends.  Thank you again for the nice comments.  I'll get right to my progress pictures.

Sweet Spring by Satsuma Street

Dog Park by Satsuma Street

Garden Cat by Satsuma Street

Pretty Little New York by Satsuma Street

Pretty Little Barcelona by Satsuma Street

The Mad Hatter by MrsPeggottyArts on Etsy - Oh darn, I finally caught up.  I only get to do 80 stitches a day now.  I'm not sure that I'll be able to stop.

Start 33 - Jane Eyre by MrsPeggottyArts on Etsy - I noticed when I started that the left side of the border is 4 stitches wide and the right side is only 3 stitches wide.  I wrote to the designer but haven't heard back yet.

So Many Stitches a Week - Week 11

Hi Blogger Friends.  Thank you for all the nice comments and votes on my last post.  I also asked for votes on the Stitch Maynia facebook group.  Mr. Darcy started way ahead than Jane passed him up and won by 2 votes.  Some gals just said Jane and some Jane Eyre.  No one said Jane Austin.  I should be able to start Jane Eyre next week.

I am already thinking about projects for next year.  As you can see by the title I will be calling it "So Many Stitches a Week".  A different project Sunday through Saturday.  Mr Darcy will be my January 1 start and one of the projects.

For this years pieces I roughly counted the total number of stitches I have left on each one and divided by 41 weeks left in the year to see how many stitches I have to do per week to get each one done by the end of the year.  This are done through week 11.  I will tell you on each one below.

Sweet Spring by Satsuma Street - 70 stitches per week

Dog Park by Satsuma Street - 125 stitches per week

Garden Cat by Satsuma Street - 110 stitches per week

Pretty Little New York by Satsuma Street - 70 stitches per week

Pretty Little Barcelona by Satsuma Street - 205 stitches per week

The Mad Hatter by MrsPeggottyArts on Etsy - 80 stitches per day - His hat is taking shape.
I did 1369 stitches for a total of 5605 stitches.  I only have to do 1115 this week to be caught up.

I am really enjoying working on The Mad Hatter and will be very sad when I get him caught up.  Then I will be happy because I will start Jane Eyre and get to work on her in the evenings until she is caught up and will be sad again.  Then I will get happy again because I will start another one.  She told me she is going to be working on the Wizard of Oz characters.  I am trying to convince her to do Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Ten-a-day Week 10

Hi Blogger Friends.  Thank you for the nice comments.  I have the second and half the third ten-a-day projects up to date.

Sweet Spring by Satsuma Street - Week 10

Dog Park by Satsuma Street - Weeks 1 - 10

The Mad Hatter by MrsPeggottyArts on Etsy - I did 1711 stitches this week for a total of 4236 stitches.  If I can do that many stitches each week I should have it caught up in a couple of weeks.

I have taken out Mermaid Myrna from the ten-a-day projects.  I really didn't want to work on it.  I am really enjoying working on The Mad Hatter.  It makes for good progress while TV watching.  So I have decided to start one of the following as my seventh project.  BUT, I need your help again.  Please leave a comment with your choice of which one I should do.

How I organize my starts - Rotation - 10-a-day

WARNING!!  Very very long post.

Hi Blogger Friends.  Thank you for all of the nice comments and suggestions on my last post.  You all are truly the best friends.
I have had several gals ask me how I keep track of all my starts.  I am going to try and explain it.  First of all I am from the very old school and like pen and paper.  I don't trust modern technology.  I don't even have a cell phone.  My husband has one and I don't even know how to turn the stupid thing on.  Without this computer though I would never have met all of you - my awesome blogger friends.

Here are a couple binder pages.  I have the name of the chart, designer, fabric color, date started and date finished.  My number system is kinda wacky but it works for me.  I keep all my starts in gallon zip bags except the BAP's are in bigger ones.  I have a sticky dot on the bag with the start number that goes with the number in the binder.

If I am looking for a certain project it does take a few minutes to go through all the pages in the binder.  I also don't have 756 gallon bags.  Each set like Lizzie Kate Stamps, Blessings, etc. are in one bag each.  The 26 little alphabet charts I started last April are in one bag.  The 24 little city charts by Tiny Modernist are in 4 bags in alphabetical order.  The Clouds Factory starts from this year are in 5 bags in alphabetical order.  You get the idea.  I have most of them stored in 3 plastic tubs like this one.  Most all of the sets are in a plastic 3 drawer storage thing in the living room  next to my stitching spot.

That's really it.  Easy peasy.

I decided last Sunday that I am not going to do the April A - Z Challenge anymore.  You don't sign up on their blog.  They have a facebook page (not even a group).  They will do a post each day for the letter and you have to leave a comment with a link to your blog post.  More trouble than I care to be bothered with.  (This week has been the first in many many months that I haven't had a stress headache everyday.)  I am very happy with my decision.

So for the past week I have been working on my Ten-a-day projects.  I haven't made a lot of progress but I don't care.  I WILL get caught up just like I did with starts last year.  I have one caught up:

Sweet Spring by Satsuma Street - Weeks 1 thru 9

I have also been working on The Mad Hatter.  My new obsession.  I added 1350 stitches for a total of 2525.  Geez it might take me all year to get caught up on this one.

My ROTATION plans (I hope).  The first 7 are my Ten-a-day projects.

1.  Sunday - Sweet Spring by Satsuma Street - 70 for the week
2.. Monday - Dog Park by Satsuma Street - 70 for the week
3.  Tuesday - Garden Cat by Satsuma Street - 70 for the week
4.  Wednesday - Pretty Little New York by Satsuma Street - 70 for the week
5.  Thursday - Mermaid Myrna by Diane Arthurs - 70 for the week
6.  Friday - The Mad Hatter by MrsPeggottyArts on Etsy - 80 per day
7.  Saturday - Pretty Little Barcelona by Satsuma Street - 70 per week

I will be doing a lot more stitches on them until I get caught up.  After that it should only take me a couple hours a day to work on them so that will give me the evening to work on other projects.  I had the random number generator pick the next ones.  I will work on them for as long or as little as I want until one is done than I will pick another.

8.  Pretty Little Berlin by Satsuma Street - Started 1-15-17 - I only had 5 non Clouds Factory starts this year and the RNG was nice to me and picked this one.
9. the Beaver from Prairie Lodge by Prairie Schooler - started 11-25-16
10.  Bazinga  by Clouds Factory - started 1-22-15
11.  I am going to start with  Aladdin by  Clouds Factory started in January and stitch one character.  It could take a day, week or month.  I don't care.  When its done I will go to the next chart, etc.  When I reach the end of the alpabet I will start over until they are all done.
12.  ????  Right now I am very obsessed with The Mad Hatter.  I am either going to pull out a BAP that is started or start another one from MrsPeggottyArts.

I will be doing a weekly update on Sundays.  If you made it this far THANK YOU.  I think I've rattled on long enough.

Thanks for stopping by.    Linda
