Starts 72 and 73

Hi Blogger Friends.  I am very excited.  My stitching mojo is BACK.  I have kept up with my starts and have done a little on my SAL's.  I did work on Halloween House and Santa's 12 Days, but not enough to take a pic.  I have gotten so far behind from not stitching for three months that I don't know if I'll ever catch up.
I have been thinking alot on my 31 January starts.  Also, a new Turtle Trot SAL.  You pick 13 WIP's/UFO's and work on them every month, even if its only 10 stitches.  You have to post a progress pic of all of them on the 13th of each month.  Very excited about this one.  (And I wonder why I don't sleep at night.)

Start 72 - Winter Season - Imaginating - Sandra Cozzolino

Start 73 - Seasonal Teddies - Imaginating - Joan Elliott  (that little pumpkin took forever)
Sassy's paw is pointing at the pumpkin.

Prairie Schooler September (I need to change the colors of the inside of the leaves)  Does anybody else notice on their charts, that the floss colors don't match the colors on the cover.  They always seem to be much more vibrant or lighter or something.

Can you tell me what you see in this picture.

Oh My 2 Finishes and 1 Start

Hi Blogger Friends.  Thank you for all the wonderful comments.  I do so appreciate them.

We had a very slow Halloween this year.  We only had about 225 kids.  It was cloudy but no rain.  This was our seventh Halloween in this house and we have been averaging about 350 kids each year.  One year we had no power and sat on the porch with flashlights and they still kept a treatin'.

Okay and Oh My.  I have two finishes for a total of seven this year.  Yeah me.

Cackle - Raise the Roof
14ct Tropical Green
started 1-18-12
finished 10-31-12

Spring & Fall - Prairie Schooler
14ct Natural aida
started 4-25-12
finished 10-28-12

Lady Liberty by Diane Arthurs.  This is a summer theme SAL with Debbie.

Start 71 - Do What Your Wife Said - Lizzie Kate

If I worked one more day on this, I could have it done.  At least I accomplished my goal of starting one piece every other day for the next two months.  lol

I'll leave you with a pic of hubby, Morris (bottom) and Moon Dragon.

You can click on any pic to enlarge.

Thanks for looking.   Linda

Starts 69 and 70 - couple updates

Hi Blogger Friends.  Thank you for all the great comments about our cruise.  We really had a good time and it was nice to get away.

I only need 30 more starts to reach my personal goal of 100.  I just want to start pieces that I know I want to stitch someday.  I don't really care if they ever get finished.  At least I can say I started them.  Besides, I don't know how to make ornaments or flatfolds or pin keeps or box tops etc.  I can frame smaller pieces, but I really don't have very much wall space in this house.  I have at least 100 in a plastic container that need to be framed (I can do about 90% of them).  They are easier to store unframed. Okay on to the pics.

Start 69 - Mermaid Myrna - Imaginating - Diane Arthurs (my favorite designer)

Start 70 - Summer Season - Imaginating - Sandra Cozzolino

Cackle - Raise the Roof

So close - yet so far.

Lady Liberty - Imaginating - Diane Arthurs
I started backstitching the cat on the bottom.  Man, this has got hours and hours of bs.  It's a good thing that I really enjoy bs.

Little Sassy is getting so big.  She's trying to lay on my arm as I type this.

Look at the neat picture I got of this bird on my neighbors light pole.

This took off while we were on vacation.

This one bloomed while we were on vacation.

 Sparky and Snowflake posing.

It's time to start thinking about putting up our outside Christmas display.  It takes us about three weeks.  The 30 plus extension cords are a nightmare.  I'm sure glad my husband has to figure out that part.  lol  He also puts everything together.  My job is to just decide where to put it and change my mind 10 times and irrate him.  (Not really, he is so sweet and mellow.  Has to be to put up with me.)
Also time to think about the UCJC2013.  Yeah 31 more starts.

I'll leave you with another towel critter from our cruise.

You can click on any photos to enlarge.

A Sailin' I Went

Edit:  I fogot to mention.  Sometimes it pays to be old and fat.  I guess it looked like I was going to pass out and we were pulled out of very long lines and put right thru the security posts.  That was nice.  I also added to the excursion trip story.

Hi Blogger Friends.  Well, I survived the airplane flights and no icebergs in the ocean.  We had a great time and it was nice to get away.  I can honestly say, that i walked more in those 8 days than I have in the last 3 years.  It was so nasty hot in Mexico.  90 degrees with 80% humidty.  Looked like we all just stepped out of the shower with our clothes on.
I enjoyed the cruise, but not sure it's something I would want to do again.  (Although, my in-laws told us if we each lose 75 lbs and I quit smoking, they would take us on a 14 day cruise to Hawaii.)  Something to think about.

Only lots of pics of cruise.

Queen Mary

Waiting to register

Cabo
Where I sat for 7 days to smoke and pool that was always full of  young adult partiers wearing not a whole lot of swimwear.

This next pictures are of Cabo San Lucas.

The end of the US or tip of Mexico

My favorite.  A different towel animal on the bed everynight.

Aloe Vera plants

The oldest mission in Cabo San Jose built in 1780

The oldest house in Cabo.  Its in the middle of the business district, but its like our historical buildings and cannot be sold to the city or torn down.

See that red sign on the pole.  Here it means STOP.  In Mexico, its just a suggestion.  (Made me giggle everytime we came to one)

This is one big ship when you walk from one end to the other several times a day.  950' to be exact.

Puerto Vallarta

These next few pics are of a tour we took by boat called Rhythms of the Night.  We went to the very end of land in Banderas Bay to Las Caletas.  Only half of it has a road, the rest is only accessible by boat.  Part of it was once the private home of film director John Huston.  His home is now a restaurant and hotel.  The movie Night of the Iguanas was filmed there.  It was an hour ride with an open bar and great entertainment by the crew.  We had a great buffet under an open grass hut with dirt floors but cloth napkins.  We saw a show about the Mayan culture in dance.  It was awesome.  Below are some of the dancers in the show.
