Hi Blogger Friends. Guess what I figured out!!! If I stay off the computer, I can actually get some stitching done. Because of my marathon Turtle Trot stitching last weekend, I didn't work on any of my SAL pieces. So this past Friday and Monday I stitched on the Stable and Saturday and Sunday I stitched on Thankful Critters.

Friday I spent several hours trying to come up with a snail and or butterfly to put next to the radio where the mice were suppose to be. They were coming out way bigger than the bird. What does horses and stables have a zillion of??????? Horseflys!! I'm not to sure if they are horseflys or bees, but I like them. My husband comes home from work and I show him and he says "Why did you put an airplane in there?" Please let me know what you think. I appreciate the feedback. Also, (you can enlarge pics for a better view) above the horse is, I think, suppose to be two baby birds in that V below the rafter. I sorta got one but it looks like a baby duck to me. lol I also tried to stitch Sugar Cubes in quarter backstitches in that blue and white square right in the middle. Had in s-u-g and started the a, the floss broke and I spent an hour ripping it out and said to hell with it. I will have my very own unique Stable, done my way. I'm sure everybody else that is working on this design won't have a problem. Enough said.
I did backstitch the top board in the middle, the rest of the roof and the bottom of the beam, sorta a bird and the horseshoe and two strands of creamy on Friday. Yesterday I needed some color and stitched the flowers on the left. AND, I finished page 1 yesterday - all 6 stitches. Old Gray must make awful stinky poops because I have never seen a stable with so many flowers.

I found a rabbit under the N and on top of the T - a squirrel on the S and an apple hanging on the V. Would have had a lot more done on this one, but the fabric is so stiff its hard to stitch on.
Thanks for looking. Linda

I love reading your descriptions about the stable! LOL!! I think the horseflies look perfect (not like airplanes at all). The bird in the nest looks just like a bird (not a duck).
Thankful Critters is almost done! I have some serious catching up to do! It is so adorable!
It looks wonderful! I love all the little details. Everything looks the way it should (horseflies like horseflies, birds like birds). It's very beautiful :-)
Wow! You made great progress! Airplanes?!No way, they are flies. Giving Thanks is looking adorable.
Looking so beautiful x
I think the stable looks great and you are doing an awesome job of it. Critters is sooo cute!
Both look wonderful!
Great progress!
They're definitely flies, and definitely belong! Am I the only one who looks at before and after pictures like I am playing that game where you have to find the ten things that are different? LOL. It's fun!
Those flies look great! They fit in like they were meant to be there :D I love watching your projects grow! The wee animals are cute, too.
great stable, love the horseflies and the backstitching ^_^
Thanks for giving me your addie. I love your progress on your pieces. Don't stress about your stable too much, it looks great and it's always wonderful to have something unique.
Looks great , flies look great too.
You have made a great progress, Linda!! The stable looks absolutely perfect!! :) I guess you can give your specs, if any, to your husband to see from a woman's perspective..he-he-he; then he will definitely see them as flies ;) just kidding:)
Your 'thankful critters' looks adorable!!
Fantastic progress! I could tell, even without enlarging the picture, that those are horseflies. Very nicely done! Yeah, do it your own way. I'm a big advocate of making the piece personal to YOU. :D
Lovely stitching, you've made great progress on your wips (:
I think the same as the other commenters - the horseflies are horseflies and the birdies are birdies. And I love the section of the piece where you have already done the backstitching. Looks really good!
YOu've gotten so much done since I last visited! Well done!
They are horseflies alright. Both pieces look awesome, congrats on the nice progress!
It all looks fantastic to me, Linda - you are making fabulous progress.
LOL - I like your horse flys:) You did get lots stitching on both samplers. Looks fantastic!
love Annette
I know I've said I love the 'give thanks' one before but it is coming along so nicely...so cute!
Love the horseflies! I would like to join the Cut Thru SAL but can't decide between the igloo or the pirate ship!
Lovely stitching. It is amazing how much we can get done if we stay off the computer.
They look fine to me!!
This is such a complicated design, you could look at it every day and see something new each time.
You got quite a bit of stitching in! Everything looks great and I see NO airplanes around the horse!
